The University of Queensland (UQ) links people to each other and to new opportunities and discoveries around the world. From industry to individuals, UQ has united with partners to combat and conquer challenges that affect the lives of many. We are committed to aligning our research priorities with those of state, regional, national and international importance.
UQ has agreements, links and relationships with universities, research institutions, foundations, multilateral organizations and corporations worldwide.
- UQ is founding member of the Group of Eight (Go8), a leading group of Australian universities that collectively enrolls one-third of all university students and conducts 70 per cent of all university research in Australia.
- UQ is one of only three Australian members of Universitas 21 – a select international network of comprehensive, research-intensive universities committed to world-best quality and practice. The network’s purpose is to facilitate collaboration and cooperation between the member universities and to create opportunities for them on a scale that would otherwise not be possible, such as student exchanges, research conferences and summer schools.
- The McDonnell International Scholars Academy at Washington University in St. Louis is one of UQ’s most highly engaged partners. UQ participates in the McDonnell Academy Global Engineering and Environmental Partnership (MAGEEP), a forum that collectively works to identify and tackle important global energy issues through research collaboration and staff and PhD scholar mobility.
