UQ is very keen to connect with our friends and alumni living in the USA and Canada. Below are a few ways you can connect with both UQ and others through networking opportunities.
UQ North America has established a group on LinkedIn where UQ alumni and friends can reconnect, share job and career opportunities, and network with each other. We would invite you to join this online community. In addition, UQ has groups on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+.
You can also subscribe to our quarterly UQ North America e-newsletter to stay informed about activities, events and updates from the UQ office in Washington, DC, and the broader UQ community.
Engage with a BEL Ambassador
The faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) has established a New York Alumni Network, hosted by a team of in-country alumni ambassadors. If you are interested in learning more about the BEL alumni network, please email BEL or join the BEL LinkedIn group.
Being alum has its advantages! As an alumnus of The University of Queensland you can enjoy the benefits of being part of the UQ community long after you graduate. You are also a member of our UQ family if you spent with us a semester as a Study Abroad student or was a part of a Student Exchange program. Unique deals and discounts are just part of the benefit of being UQ alumni, and our list is always expanding, so make sure you check back regularly to see what’s on offer for you.
Join the UQ in America, Inc Foundation
All UQ alumni and friends are invited to join the foundation as members. Membership fees are $100 per person or $150 per household, and include benefits such as a UQ keepsake, reciprocal membership with the American Australian Association, invitations to special UQ in America member-only special events, and more. The membership fee is tax-deductible.
“There are so many wonderful things about UQ. But, if I had to pick only three, I would say that the people, the location, and the educational experience are what really make it stand out. Almost everyone I have met – students, faculty, and staff – have been incredibly welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The location is equally fantastic. UQ has a wonderful campus feel, with beautiful green lawns and great facilities. All of my professors are extremely knowledgeable and seem genuinely interested in their fields of study. These things make for a truly fantastic university experience.”
