The Australian High Commission and The University of Queensland invite our alumni, partners and friends to attend a reception honoring Australian alumni in the Greater Toronto area.

Come network and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks alongside Deputy High Commissioner Ms. Michelle Manson, and Professor Iain Watson, Vice-President (External Engagement) at The University of Queensland.

Prof Watson will host a UQ-only event from 5:30pm to 6:00pm to provide networking opportunities exclusively for our UQ alumni, partners and friends.

Ms. Michelle Manson, Deputy High Commissioner

Michelle is the Deputy High Commissioner at the Australian High Commission in Ottawa. She joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1997. Michelle has had postings in Moscow and Port Vila, and has worked in various roles in Canberra, including as Director Solomon Islands Section and Director Climate Change and Environment section.



Professor Iain Watson, Vice President of External Engagement

As Vice President(External Engagement), Professor Iain Watson is responsible for leading the University’s overall engagement strategy, with a particular focus on expanding the quality and scale of engagement with prospective students, industry, government, alumni and Aboriginal and Torres-Strait Islander communities. The position works collaboratively with all UQ portfolios to develop, articulate and sustain a shared vision of engagement.
